Roots of a Rebellion’s newest album Shapes Of A Soul has been out for a week now and I can’t stop listening to it. This fifteen track album has me playing song after song. The collective group from Nashville, TN showcase what talented musicians they are in this release. They combine insightful lyrics to inspire and bridge the gap of love, the type of love we should be embracing with one another.
A Bit About Shapes Of A Soul
The title track, Shapes of a Soul, dives right into it and was the first single released back in April. A feel-good song that promotes unity and honesty, even if the truth hurts. Guitarist Austin Smith sings on the majority of the tracks and does wonderfully in doing so. However, bassist Adam Quellhorst brings a different element on “I Live in Light,” “Lucifer,” and “My Friend” which shows the band’s versatility and depth. Other than the songs mentioned earlier, I really liked “The Message,” “Get Better,” and “Best of Times.” Really though, you could listen to this whole thing all the way through.
Catch Them On Tour Now
Roots of a Rebellion has been chipping away since 2012 and their music is emerging from the Music City. Not straying away from roots reggae, they blend rock ‘n roll, jazz, and dub to create their unique sound. ROAR is currently touring the west coast and will be performing alongside the San Diego band, Through the Roots, for the majority of the venues. Known for their dynamic performances, which I can certainly attest to, I’m sure they will definitely grab new fans on this side of the states.
