Rockwell Powers and DJ Phinisey release their newest project ‘BUILD,’ and the response has seemed great thus far. A few Saturday’s ago their album release show at Tacoma’s Grit City Grindhouse sold out, and the project was also featured on DJBooth.net. The project, which features a ton of northwest artists, was recorded, mixed and mastered Phinisey’s studio, Remedy Recording. I honestly was unaware that Phinisey produced but have heard his name dropped countless times as a recording enginee, but producing a whole project flex’s the versatility of the man. Rockwell and Phinisey reached out to Ra Scion, Xperience, Jay Barz, and more for features.
“The album is the third full length project by Powers (his previous two were with Seattle producer Ill Pill) and the second by Phinisey (his first being his self-titled producer album), but their first together. The two have been working together on and off since they lived in the same dormitory at Pacific Lutheran University in 2007. In 2010 they release a EP titled ‘Kings & Comics.'”
