RMR’s Local Music Wednesday Ft. Gifted Gab, Jang The Goon, Maika Million, Swanks, and More

Y’all gather around for another article for RMR’s Local Music Wednesday with some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest in the hip-hop game. We got a hefty line up for you this week and some sick collaborations that you won’t want to miss on. Seattle and Spokane are heavily represented in this group, so if you want to catch any of these artists live, you know where to go.

“AFFILI8D CYPHER” AFFILI8D Feat. Topp, TheBoyBeerus, Zaeshaun Haze, Bapeface & Jang The Goon (Prod. NWK)

Although this new single by AFFILI8D is self-titled, each featured artist gets spotlighted and each one is just as good as the next. Kicking off RMR’s Local Music Wednesday right, this group manages to go off in their own style individually while at the same time flowing together so effortlessly. The energy from this collaboration is so hyped in the best way.

“ROPE” Campana, Dave Shanae, & Dave B.

We’ve got another great group collaboration, but with a much more mellow vibe. This chorus is soft and dreamy, but every hook still goes hard despite the blissed out sound. Play this song on your next date night, and let these melodic voices set the mood for you.

G-Body Music Gifted Gab

This songstress from Seattle shows you just how talented she is with her multi-layered album consisting of rap, ballads, and even some humor. The ebb and flow of this whole album is such a creative roller coaster, we couldn’t NOT feature the entire thing on RMR’s Local Music Wednesday this week. Gifted Gab’s melodic songs are just as powerful as her raps, and the skits in between give a comedic relief you weren’t ready for, but will definitely appreciate.

“Good Girls” Maika Million

Have you or someone you know ever wondered why good girls go for the bad guys? You may be entitled to compensation…not really, but you’ll probably relate to this song. The irony of this song is Maika Million describing himself as the “bad guy,” and still confused about his own appeal. This kind of tongue-in-cheek wit is what sets this new track apart from any other song that asks this age old question.

“SIPPY CUP” SWANKS

This is the kind of track that’s silky enough to put you in a zone whether it’s time to chill or time to grind. By the time the song’s over, it’s put on repeat immediately because one time just wasn’t enough. SWANKS has the lifestyle that’ll keep you interested.

“downsize.” Oblé Reed

Oblé Reed is an artist with a message, and that’s clear in all his music, but his latest single really gives a kind of comfort that makes you feel like everything is going to be alright. His encouraging lyrics will be sure to leave you inspired and hopeful. Whenever you’re going through one of those days, let Oblé Reed here diffuse your anxiety.

“RooF oN FiRe” Jang The Goon

Jang The Goon is making a second appearance in RMR’s Local Music Wednesday. The single seems reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar, but Jang the Goon definitely puts in personal touches with surges of gritty background sounds and bassy vocals that give an almost rave-type vibe to his rap.
