Two major fixtures in the hip-hop community linked up for a brand new mixtape Members By All Movements. Mozzy, a native of Sacramento California, is no stranger to Washington. He collaborated with I-502 producer Bigfoot Farms over a cannabis stain called Mozzy Cookies. On a mission to further stretch his Washington roots, Mozzy teamed up with Raz Simone, one of Seattle’s most prolific gangster poets.
This mixtape follows Raz’s modus operandi of slow beats and deliveries with detailed stories from his life. Mozzy has a featured verse in every song. His choppy delivery is a far cry from Raz’s methodic and detailed filled delivery and it lets listeners key into each artist’s unique additions to the tape.
Raz’s music tends to make me think more than it makes me want to dance, but this tape packed a couple of fist-pumping bangers in “OsamaBinRazin” and “Close Your Eyes.” Mozzy’s inclusion upgrades these tracks further into certified fight music, pumping you up for anything trial or tribulation life dares to throw at you.
Hopin’ the bread I’m stackin’ can mend the damage done, so son you already know when I grab my gun
“Close Your Eyes” chorus
Raz lays down a beautiful tribute to Nipsey Hussle over his song “These Kids Throw Rocks.” He breaks down the meaning behind Members By All Movements (MBAM) and how Nipsey’s tragic end continues to inspire him to continue giving back to his people, even if some of them are the very people gunning for him on the streets.
