Ralphy Davis and Mafi D are two names that have severely been holding down Seattle and streets across the West Coast. Putting on for the city everywhere they go, these two understand their power is in numbers. Those numbers have gone up as the trade bars on the new “Checkmate” music video, which has already caught a quick 6000 views.
While the city of Seattle continues to overlook artists from “that side of the tracks,” these guys have found a way to push through. Both have blazed stages, touched media outlets, and shot videos outside of the city. Ralphy was featured on Upstream Music Festival, The Seattle World Tour, and was also a featured artist at our last event in Oakland with Have a Heart. Ralphy actually brought Mafi with him to Oakland to share the stage and represent Seattle and they even found time while in the Bay to shoot the “Checkmate” video (right before showtime if I remember correct).
Thinking outside the town while repping home simultaneously, Mafi starts the record off with “Someone tell Shawn Cotton we the hottest in the town.” From that point on, the two flex bars back and forth over a creeping West Coast bassline. This joint is clean!
