Hot sauce goes on everything. Hot Cheetos make some of the best munchies when you’re high, at least they used to. Portland Oven has introduced the Oregon cannabis world to its Pot Sauce. A tiny bottle of cannabis-infused hot sauce. My biggest problem with this was determining what meal I wanted to put it on. Their infused hot sauce comes in three different levels, a mild, hot, and insane. The best part is that they’re all infused.
For the purpose of introducing myself to cannabis-laced hot sauce, I chose medium heat for my initial test. I’ve found there are inconsistencies in the hot sauce world and what might be medium to one person is not medium to another. I figure it is easier to move up their product list instead of go down.
The ingredients on Pot Sauce were simple, Cayenne peppers, vinegar, water, weed. salt, and garlic powder. Nothing to be alarmed of and there’s a definite limit on filler ingredients. Everything in the sauce adds to the experience.
There are at least 10 servings in each bottle of Pot Sauce, but that all depends on your tolerance for weed and hot seasonings. I could see myself overdoing some scrambled eggs and eating more weed than I intended. This time, I’ll be infusing my chicken fried rice.
A nozzle on the top of the bottle allows you to distribute your hot sauce evenly to your food. This also helps you control the amount of sauce that you’re getting. Before applying any to my food I put a drop on my finger. The coloring reminded me of Tapatio, but I knew that this was going to be better. I’ve always preferred it to Sriracha. The familiar vinegar taste from this hot sauce reminded me of Tapatio as well.
Portland Oven’s Pot Sauce provided an excellent flavor enrichment to my fairly boring fried rice. The high was similar to most edibles that I’ve had and provided a quick relaxed feel that eventually resulted in a nice post food nap.
