Paris Life is a recording artist and manager based in Seattle who kicked off the new year releasing his track “JDM II” on the first of the new year. The sequel track to an old fan favorite from 4 years ago, “JDM II” takes it to the next level featuring Jzi, YZ Fela, and Rice.
Paris started making music in High School and was primarily interested in hip-hop but has recently branched out to other genres. His decision to pursue a music career was influenced by his uncle, the late rapper Taj Randall, as well as his Aunt and Grandmother who were members in their church choir.
In 2010 he was invited to the White House by President Barack Obama after an amazing performance at the EMP, now MoPop. Paris Life has also performed at popular events in Seattle such as Bumbershoot and Folk Life. This year he won the “2020 Best African Music Band” award at the African Achievement Awards with Alex Kajumulo for production on their band’s music this year.
A true rarity in a cut throat industry, Paris has also spent years teaching young people how to produce hip-hop music. He enjoys doing this and wears many hats but his main roles in the industry is as an artist and producer.
This latest drop “JDM II” is a vivid journey that builds up slowly with bare keys leading the intro. But, once it get’s going, you’ll be trapped in it’s surprisingly ear-wormy beat and hook. The energy on this track puts me back in the days of the PS2’s “Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition” and honestly it might be time to fire that baby up and jam out to this.
“JDM II” is that good times in the whip with all cares out the window type track. The song has boss energy and seat rattling bass that is sure to set the vibe right for any function.
