Otieno Terry is one of the most intriguing artists to me in Seattle right now. I’ve seen him perform a few times, and every single time it’s a unique experience. A show that is exclusive to the night, and never the same again. He’s also very selective about what’s available to the public. The video for his new single LKWABLVD is the ONLY video on his Youtube channel.
The video starts by traveling down Lake Washington Boulevard. This leads you to Otieno sitting on a bench where he is reminiscing about the time he used to spend with, assumingly, a romantic interest. His east African heritage is very much so alive in this invigorating electronic African marimba-esque beat. Visually stunning, with a hint of obscurity as you start to notice people wearing animal heads in the background. This video makes you want to kick off your dancing shoes and find a meadow to really let loose in.
