NW Nightlife: Hucci at Q Nightclub (RECAP)

On September 9th, UK Trap Lord, Hucci, took over Q Nightclub for one of the dopest trap sets I’ve ever experienced. Fresh off witnessing an insane Flosstradamus set at Bumbershoot, I went into this show with zero expectations because I didn’t want to disappoint myself with a subpar turn-up. I was super tired after spending three days in the rain and sun but luckily, my good friend Lucas, from Astral Twinns, was with me to check things out. This was our first time going to Q Nightclub and it honestly couldn’t have gone any better!

The energy from inside the club spewed out into the massive lines creating an excitement I hadn’t seen at a club in quite some time. Although most people hanging out were chiefin’ cigs right outside the entrance, I couldn’t help but enjoy myself as more and more people I recognized started to appear outside of the venue. I came across a few local celebrities from the USC Events crew, a few DJs from other venues, and even some old friends from my high school. After catching up for ten minutes or so, I couldn’t believe that I was one of the few people who hadn’t been to this club before!

Once I was inside the venue things started to escalate quickly. I was immediately drawn in thanks to the sick lighting and the music being played by resident DJ, Justin Hartinger. I’m a pretty picky person when it comes to how venues do things these days and it was crystal clear that Q had put a ton of thought into how this club would look and sound. A combination of dope music, LED boards, strobes, colored lights, and smoke really created a trendy club vibe that I feel most Seattle clubs are going for. The venue was also laid out in a really unique way that gives patrons multiple views of the DJ booth as well as the rest of the club. To me, the layout is definitely what sets this club a part from other venues.

I’ve been hearing for a while that the only real way to experience premier sound quality in Seattle is to hear music played on the Funktion One system utilized by Q Nightclub. I honestly can’t even describe how amazing music sounds on these speakers but after the night I had, I can definitely appreciate the truth behind that recommendation and will be anxiously awaiting the next stellar performance.

Shouts to Q Nightclub for hosting a DOPE artist like Hucci and for booking quality openers to keep the energy flowing just right. I was thoroughly impressed with both Justin Hartinger and BGEEZY’s ability to keep the crowd hyped until 12:30. In case you missed Mr. Hartinger’s set, you can check it out down below!
