It seems like the entire Northwest hip-hop scene is on fire lately! Portland, Seattle, Tacoma and Spokane are firing on all cylinders and we’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of content coming our way.
With the amount of dope music being released, we’ll be playing catch-up with the inbox for the next week or so. As a show of faith for those artists who think we been sleepin’ on em, I grabbed 5 of the hottest joints sent in from around the Northwest and shared my quick thoughts on each release.
Cam B – Bust A Move ft. T.S The Solution & Taz Allen
These guys are putting out some of the most quality hip-hop to come from the east side of Washington.
Ellensburg’s Cam B grabs T.S The Solution and Yakima’s Taz Allen for his new music video ‘Bust A Move.’ This is the perfect joint to crank up on your I-5 commute to work.
Yodi Mac – 40,025 Minutes
Yodi Mac is a new(er) name out of Tacoma, WA. He hit the scene pretty hard these past few months and most recently was an official performer at Dope Music Festival.
His new single 40,025 Minutes has been getting some serious play around our office. I think OD 1Take may have it as his ring tone. Do not sleep on this guy Yodi, his team has got some tricks up their sleeve for a big 2017.
Warm Gun – Busy ft. Dave B & AllA
Warm Gun takes us on an audio journey to the islands with this one. The incredibly talented producer/designer/singer/rapper/engineer/multi-instrumentalist showcases multiple talents on this record.
One of Seattle’s most in-demand rappers, Dave B, and AllA help fill out the vibe nicely.
ROBy – Boomin
The intro to ROBy‘s Cartoon Summers is perfectly titled, ‘Boomin’. We completely missed this project in our inbox. We can now confidently say that this whole joint goes!
Don’t be like us and bump this now!
Bryce Bowden – Velour Sweaters ft. Tre Ross & Webb Wavy
This sounds like an Action Bronson and Pete Rock type record. Bryce Bowden grabs Fine Malt Lyric’s Webb Wavy and Tre Ross for a photo shoot on the visual. All 3 emcees bringing different but dope vibes on this boom bap jam.
