Seattle artist Nixo Fortune is starting his climb in the hip-hop scene with his first EP since 2017. NESSELIFE 1.8 is a five-track EP featuring futuristic and bass bumping beats with Nixo’s “in your face,” fun-aggressive style. If you’ve listened to his music in the past you’ll recognize his personal sound and style that day one fans have always enjoyed. But, from his 2017 EP NESSELIFE to now there is a clear development in sound. Nixo fortune has taken a step forward in making his own sound and standing out among the masses.
Nesselife is more than an album title for Nixo, it’s a thought process to him. “Nesse,” as in finesse, is his swag and tag for music and life. All about keeping his nose to the grindstone and finessing the hate, bs, etc. anything that gets in his way of success.
You may be thinking, “why take nearly three years to drop if you’re always grinding?” Well, as many true artists know the grind can’t always be focused on your craft 100 percent. After dropping his first EP, Nixo’s life took a different turn for a bit and he moved to Minnesota. He still dropped some singles when he could. Tracks like “Glitch” and “Money$ign$” kept the dream alive until he could finally move back to Seattle March of 2019 and get into full nesse-mode.
NESSELIFE 1.8 is just a small taste of what Nixo Fortune has in the vault after so much idle time. So far the two fan-favorite tracks have been “Bad Guy.” Which features a melodic, dreamlike, and keys heavy beat. Alongside “Bigger Picture,” a slower-paced, thoughtful track about looking at the “why” of what you’re doing and making sure you’re doing it for the right reasons.
