This week RMR is continuing our segment New Music Monday, where we run down the best releases each week. This week we have some great songs to recommend for your playlist!
A lot of incredible tunes were released this week across multiple genres. For this episode, we are again focusing on new hip-hop and electronic songs, as well as some pop R&B-influenced tracks. Our list includes G Perico, Saweetie, ZHU, Offset and more!
“Pressure” – G Perico
To kick things off, G Perico released a new song this week titled “Pressure.” Over his career, G Perico has released a huge catalog and has acquired millions of streams. He has also collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the world including Wiz Khalifa and Dave East. “Pressure” is a great tune with a synth-driven loop and a hard-hitting beat. It is full of clever lines and lyrically speaks about his rise to fame. It is worth checking out for sure!
“BIRTHDAY” – Saweetie
We also got a new song from Saweetie this week. The track is titled “BIRTHDAY” and features YG and Tyga. The song has a great bass-driven loop and Saweetie’s rapping is awesome, and the song includes one clever line after another, the hook is “Comin’ live on my birthday / Spendin’ hundred racks on a new chain..” YG and Tyga come in with some great verses each. An awesome music video for the song was released and it’s full of stylish clips!
“JEALOUSY” – Offset Feat. Cardi B
Staying in the hip-hop category, we got an amazing collaboration from the married couple Offset and Cardi B. Their new tune “JEALOUSY” is a response to the rumors that Offset is cheating on Cardi B. The pair silenced the rumors with this track and called out their haters. Stating “Jealousy that s— gon’ eat your heart out / It’s a AR sawed-off we’ll slow your squad out / It’s the beast you brought out / It’s a feast we ball out / I’ll eat your heart out / I’ll pull ya card out.”
“It’s Getting Hot” – NLE Choppa
NLE Choppa is on our list again this week, he has been consistently releasing some great music this year. He released his new song “It’s Getting Hot” this past week. The tune is a tribute to Nelly’s early 2000s hit song “Hot in Herre.” The new track contains a lot of the original lyrics as well some new verses, vocals, and ad-libs from NLE Choppa.
“Last Days” – Trippie Redd
Trippie Redd also released a great tune this week titled “Last Days.” The song has some great vocals from Trippie Redd and an extremely catchy hook. “Last Days” samples Deftones’ 2008 hit song “Sextape.” Lyrically, the track touches on the fleeting moments spent with a lover. It is worth checking out!
REALLY HER – BIA
BIA released a new album this week, REALLY HER. The album is full of great features including Juicy J, Timbaland, J. Cole, and Swizz Beats, as well as some awesome new songs BIA has been making a name for herself in the hip-hop world recently REALLY HER follows her 2020 record FOR CERTAIN which peaked in the Top 40 of the Billboard charts. One of the standout tracks off of her new project is “MILLIONS.” The tune has some awesome rapping from BIA, showing her sassy attitude.
“No Fake Love” – Yo Gotti
Yo Gotti’s new song “No Fake Love” has also been in our ears this week. The song is set to be a part of his new record, which is going to be released next month. The tune itself is a classic Gotti record with a catchy hook and dope beat. The music video for “No Fake Love” stars Yo Gotti’s famous girlfriend Angela Simmons, check it out below!
“Changes” – ZHU
First up in the electronic category for this week, we have a new release from ZHU, “Changes.” The tune is very emotional and a departure from his signature sound. It is a reflective track, driven by beautiful piano chords and lyrics about his time in the spotlight. It is a chiller vibe than the rest of the songs on our list but is still worth checking out!
“Otherside” – Malaa and Wax Motif
Malaa and Wax Motif released their new electronic track this week “Otherside.” The song begins with an amazing build and then drops into a bass-driven section. The song’s production is incredible with many builds, drops, and great sound effects. It could easily be a huge electronic club hit.
“Memories” – Eden Prince and Nono
Another sick electronic release this week is Eden Prince and Nono’s “Memories.” The song has some great electronic sound effects and an awesome vocal hook. It is full of Eden Prince’s iconic high-energy production as well as some great vocals from Nono. It’s another tune that creates a great club vibe.
