“You smoke all my weed every time I go to work, never cook me any dinner, now you’re calling me a jerk.”
Let’s be real for a minute; Each and every one of us has been in that one relationship, (or a few), that was all wrong for us. It’s fun at first, assuring your friends that everything is good even when they’re warning you to stay away. And then it happens. All of a sudden, you’re stuck with the most obnoxious human being on the planet… (Right? Right.) Because we’ve all been there, Tope’s new track “Stuck” is one that I think audiences will have a fun time relating to. Created in a few hours on Sunday night, Tope made the beat, wrote the song and recorded it all in one go. Less than a week later, here it is, audience ready. This track isn’t all we have to look forward to from Tope in the next few months. This summer, he will be releasing his new album “TROUBLE MAN” on Amigo/Amiga. This album will be entirely self produced, (just as Tope’s first solo EP, “Soul Music” was), and will feature raps from the talented Luck-One, Grynch, and Spaceman as well as trumpet by Farnell Newton and Cello by Chloe Victoria Cerva. While the single that dropped today is more of a fun, playful track, I have no doubt in my mind that Tope’s new EP will be full of the personal and honest songwriting his fans love him for.
