Mother Magnolia Launches Online Cannabis Cultivation School for Growers

Mother Magnolia is a premium cannabis producer out of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Tom Scoble and his team have been producing legally at scale since 2016 and have a great reputation throughout the state for growing top-shelf smokage. Scoble, never one to rest on his laurels, wanted to find a way to give back to the cultivation community. He started making content to share his decades of business and cultivation experience.

Getting information on the internet is incredibly easy for some things, incredibly tricky for others. Take politics, for example, it’s very easy to find vetted information on whatever local or national issue you’re curious about. But if you’re trying to find vetted, reliable information on growing mushrooms or cannabis, it gets a little murky. Sure, you can find incredible information on places like Reddit and MAPS, but sometimes it’s hard to trust CookieMonster69’s advice on your nutrient cycles. Scoble sought to remedy this situation by creating content and sharing all the experience he had gathered over 10 years of farming at scale in Oregon’s legal market.

“I can’t export product, but I can export knowledge,” Scoble said.

How Mother Magnolia’s Cultivation School Works

Mother Magnolia’s cultivation school is a digital platform that combines online curriculum and social media message boards. It provides a central hub where enrollees can find the educational content and share information about their specific problems. This platform is handy because you can get solutions to your specific problems from Scoble and other cultivators on the platform.

Everyone’s grow is different, and the problems cultivators face tend to be hyper-specific. This makes finding solutions incredibly tedious, especially in the early days of the internet. Mother Magnolia’s program features 14 modules of content that cover everything from seed to harvest. These modules cover topics like room environment, controllers, secret sauce, and pheno-hunting.

The “skool community” is a members-only forum that lets you trade secrets with other cultivators. This is a great tool where you can post pictures and easily share all kinds of information with people wading through the same murky waters as you.

There are multiple tiers available depending on how much help and content you’d like from Scoble and his team. You can even pay for consulting packages that guarantee you one-on-one time with the man himself and up to a full year of exclusive email support.

They even throw you a 20 seed pack as an enrollment gift.

Cultivating More than Plants and Content

The content is aimed at all levels of growers. Whether you have one light or 3000, the content is designed to quench the curiosity of cultivators of all skill levels. It’s clear that Scoble and his team have a knack for producing good content; it’s clear, concise, and easy to follow. Scoble gives a lot of credit to his editor and videographer, Adam Duran. Cannabis is confusing, and having people who can explain the nuances in layman’s terms is a huge advantage. After watching the content and speaking with Tom myself, it’s clear he cares about not only his business and cannabis, but the act of cultivation itself.

Think of cultivation as a vehicle for human development. When you take care of the plants and tend to their needs, you’re not only cultivating their wellbeing, but your wellbeing as well. It creates a reciprocal relationship, whereas you learn the discipline required to cultivate healthy plants, you reap rewards outside of the garden in the form of new life skills and more robust personal relationships.

“Cultivation for me is leaning into our lives and actually developing cool shit as we go,” Scoble said.
