For this week’s Local Music Wednesday, we have a another list of great artists that includes MBK, John Thomas, BoomerBabby, Lil Boof, Isaacjacuzzi, Wynne, and more!
John Thomas, MBK, Isaacjacuzzi, Topp, Wynne and Other Artists Local Music Wednesday
BoomerBabyy
To start us off, BoomerBabyy is a local artist who has been making some solid moves. Collaborating with artists G-Baby and Mafi D, he was also recently featured in a CityScape Sessions Youtube video where he performed his song “Show Me Luv”. The song has some incredible hip-hop vocals and combines singing and rapping beautifully. Overall, it is definitely a performance worth checking out.
Isaacjacuzzi
Another local artist who has been killing the game is Isaacjacuzzi. He recently released a great new song “Wasted,” which features Leesta. The song has an intense beat that is driven by a great distorted 808. His vocals are extremely melodic and he uses vocal effects in a very clever way.
Lewie and Keese Loc
Next on our list Lewie and Keese Loc released an awesome tune recently titled “Old Shit”. The song begins with a soulful vocal loop and goes into a hit-hat-driven beat. Thoughout the song, both rappers are spit bars, lyrically the song touches on haters wanting the artists to be the “old” version of themselves. This track proves that both artists have grown for the better and are not letting anyone hold them back.
Wynne
Oregon’s Queen of Rap, Wynne is also pushing out some great music. I’ve had her track “What Would Comb Do?” on repeat. The song has a great instrumental bed, with some soulful piano chords and guitar lines. Despite the calm instrumental, Wynne’s rapping is next level and she is able to stay in the pocket throughout the entire song. She has definitely found her own style and is an artist to keep your eye on as she continues putting in work.
Sol
Continuing on, our next artist is Sol, who recently released his newest song, “Be Water, My Friend”. It includes a great xylophone part with some added ocean noises, creating a calm atmosphere. Overall, the tune is great for the end of your night, and is definitely worth checking out.
Lil Boof
Another artist to keep your ears tuned into is Lil Boof. He recently released a music video for his song “ARP”. Both the song and video are absolutely dope. Sonically the track has some great production loops and some impressive rapping from Lil Boof.
MBK
MBK, recently released their new album FISH SCALE, and it is full of some great tunes. They can all rap incredibly and with humourous track titles such as “Elf Bar” and “Dog Food Doordash,” we’re confident they are on their way to getting decent attention. The album is full of some sick beats as well as clever and hilarious lyrics.
John Thomas
Next on our list is John Thomas, whose new track “K-TOWN BABY (WHAT I LIKE)” has been in our ears all week. Production-wise, the song has some great distorted synth chords as well as beautiful vocal loops. Throughout the track, Thomas raps melodically and incorporates some great chants into the tune, making it a track that should not be missed.
Topp
To round out this week’s episode we have Topp with his new single “DO IT AGAIN”. The song features Karma Knows and Shayhan and the production is extremely unique. There is a clean electric guitar part throughout that adds to the vibe immensely. There are also vocal loops and harmonies throughout. Also, all the rappers have their own moment and showcase their personal style.
