Brunch Electronik With Maya Jane Coles, Will Clarke, and More All Delivered Incredible Experiences at Los Angeles’ Exposition Park

Los Angeles recently welcomed some European “electronik” vibes with the very first Brunch Electronik festival taking place in one of Southern California’s largest recreational venues, Exposition Park. Featuring a lineup that included iconic artists like Maya Jane Coles and Will Clarke, this festival was both unique and memorable to say the least.

At this venue you can find multiple shows, athletic events, farmer’s markets, rose gardens, science centers, and museums hosted all simultaneously on one fairground. Other than Miami, Chicago, and New York, LA is known as any music connoisseur’s dream destination in the United States. The vast majority of music themed events in Los Angeles has and always will be one of the best places to visit when it comes to any music genre, especially electronic music as it gains popularity year after year.

As the day reached a beautiful high of 85 degrees, drinks were flowing, people dancing, and we walked in right as the music and vibes started to pick up. The event was perfectly timed from 3pm-12am, right after the peak of the heat.

The duo known as MANICS were playing on stage bringing the funky disco vibes to welcome us all into the show. Their performance as truly electric, giving attendees the perfect tunes to vibe out to and explore the multiple vendor attractions.

The vendors ranged from fashion, to art, to crystals and meditative healing practitioners, plus yummy food and drinks of course. Something I’d like to point out was the DISCO DRINKS cart that had mocktail options for all of the sober goers who still want to have fun with the community, but also have the option to attend alcohol free for any personal reasons. Joey and I saw people go back numerous times for these mocktails.

Moving throughout the day, STAVROZ began to harmonize collectively on stage and give us a performance worth remembering.

When I tell you, these fellas played their hearts out, and that saxophone was saxaphoning, I mean it! What a treat to be able to watch STAVROZ play multiple live instruments while simultaneously DJ’ing as the sun sets behind them… truly a sight to see, and what a way to welcome DJ Harvey onto stage, who gave us a tasteful disco tech set to get jiggy to.

DJ Harvey was so calm, cool, and collected as he provided such a groovy environment for the community to connect with as he must have felt at home. He is a Los Angeles transplant from Europe playing an event that started in Europe and chose him in honor of their Los Angeles debut!

Showing love to the women DJ’s, Maya Jane Coles absolutely crushed, as she always does. Maya brings such a lively, yet soft and elegant vibe to the music scene. The way she moves, flowing with the wind, and lets the music take her wherever she wants to go. For me, I’ll always follow.

Maya Jane Coles started the set on the slower side, and continue playing seamlessly from dusk to night. She draws us in and then faded into some deep techno which was a perfect way to introduce the man, the myth, and the legend, Will Clarke.

Will Clarke, a European native himself, has always shown LA so much love. After May Jane Coles’ incredible set, he brought the heat when it came time to bring in even more techno. With his famous single, Techno Tree, the night lit up as the lights cued and lasers stuck the sky.

Closing out the night, Colyn brought a very experimental sound, almost ethereal in a sense. His sound was very spacious, it seemed like the goal was to almost take you on a trip. Definitely delivered a well- thought out set with intentional execution.

Overall, the performers were scheduled flawlessly, aligning with the time of day, from funky disco daytime tunes, to disco house during sunset, into dusk, and moving into tech house by night. The smiling faces said it all.
