Portland rapper Manny Monday released his newest video, “Wimbledon Arena” on March 3rd. The track, produced by Stewart Villian exhibits Manny’s polished lyrical control over a classic drum track coupled with unique and complex vocal and instrumental samples. Manny uses this track to spit about his personal journey and struggle toward success. His ability to tell a fluid story within the constraints of a traditional rhyme scheme makes this emcee stand out.
The video itself is set in Portland, with scenes in iconic locations such as Pioneer square. Seeing a rapper willing to represent the city despite current events is refreshing.
Manny will be dropping his debut EP, Workaholix in the spring. Look out for a release date and peep the new video.
