Macntaj has been on a journey. For local Pacific Northwest fans, we’ve seen the resilience, rise, and a growing catalog of bangers. From party cuts, to landing on the charts as the leading vocalist in EDM music, the Seattle by way of this Sacramento rapper has left a lot of his heart on wax. Macntaj “Look Up” ft Jerome Dillard (Music Video)
Macntaj has built an impressive online presence and local recognition. This is often attributed to the entertainment value in his music videos. Alongside local filmmaker Justin Frick, the artist has been able to bring incredibly creative videos to life that look and feel like major budget commercial visuals. Never short of imagery, interludes, or bars that will make you spit out your drink, there’s no doubt the dude is funny. Since his entertainment value far precedes the comedy genre, I would still never classify his style as “comedic;” rather an exciting rapper that can entertain at a high level.
Big Bloc Meign comes in at 17 tracks with a few interludes from legendary rapper and Bloc Star Revolution label owner X-Raided. Mac has already released music videos for numerous songs from the album, yet there is plenty of new music too. Fans have likely already heard the Tory Lanez ripped off “Hood Burger” and seen the hilarious video for “Love Me The Same.”
Seattle has seen a resurgence of local talent over the last year grabbing up national accolades and attention. Lil Mosey quickly became one of the largest rappers in the game out of the upper left. Travis Thompson signed to Epic, dropped a song with G-Eazy, and released an incredible album this year. Artist iLL Chris is still touring the nation with some of the hottest rappers out there, Parisalexa has been bubbling and bubbling, and 28av linked with Tee Grizzly on his incredible new project. Where does that leave the best of 2021 for the region? Where do you see Macntaj’s Big Bloc Meign in that mix? Let us know!
