A year ago south Seattle native, Lil Boof, broke into the local music scene proving he’s nothing but serious about this game. He flew out swinging with a moody single under the name “Stranded,” that came with a slick video. The video saw enough buzz to establish a solid foundation for the dude. Almost a month ago he came out of the shadows with another tastefully shot video that’s already doubling the stats on his initial single.
The new single “Corner Store” sees some dark, yet bouncy production that elevates Boof’s entrancing lyrics detailing his previous frustrations with being broke. After a month up on Youtube the new cut has already run up over 4k plays with no intention of slowing down. Lil Boof also spends a solid amount of time scheming down in Los Angeles and is trying to bridge the musical gap between the two with his moody, yet flex-filled vibes. The video itself showcases some extremely smooth camera work by @Voice2Hard.
If Lil Boof was broke before, he seems better now. The video sees him pulling up in the clean whip while simultaneously pouring up into a Sprite outside the local corner store. You see Boof flipping what he’s got to in order to secure his bag while still celebrating being better off than he was. In regards to the lyrical content and driving beat, the song has many anthemic qualities that will get you singing along after the first hook. Scope the video below and drop some comments if you think it slaps.
