Even if he’s pulling a beat or two off Youtube, or collaborating with his cousin “richidood” out in Salt Lake City to get the sound locked-in, LaLion’s holding the reins. KIWI was primarily recorded in his home studio, with ample shouts to his cousin to get everything just right. With this mixtape being two years in the making, you can almost hear the blood, sweat, and tears on each track.
I’m not joking when I say this kid stays on top of his content and promotion. Leading up to the unveiling of this lengthy release the dude has put out three music videos and kept his fans guessing with what he’s going to give them next. This album in particular was made with the message of suicide prevention. KIWI is an acronym for “kill it with ignorance,” which is LaLion’s way of asserting that we can kill the demons we have by becoming ignorant to them.
