Rapper and activist Killer Mike is set to take his act on the road this summer. Beginning July, the Atlanta-born MC will kickstart a packed 19-date tour that will go on for almost a month. His supporting cast on the High & Holy Tour, unlike previous treks, will be a gospel choir!
“Let everyone know GOOD NEWS IS COMING!” Mike wrote on Instagram. “I’m excited to announce The High & Holy Tour. My choir, The Midnight Revival, and I will perform songs from my new album MICHAEL, as well as classic hits from R.A.P. Music, PLEDGE, and more. Join us for a night of celebration and soulful connection. Let’s have a Revival! Presale begins Wednesday, and general tickets go on sale Friday. See you there!”
The Midnight Revival choir will enhance Killer Mike’s rich catalog on stage following the release of his album the previous month. On June 16, Killer Mike will release his first solo record in over a decade. The follow-up to 2012’s R.A.P. Music, MICHEAL will André 3000, Future, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and more.
Soon after the High & Holy Tour, Killer Mike will embark on a mini-tour with El-P to celebrate ten years of Run the Jewels. This will take place over September in four different cities: New York, Chicago, Atlanta and Los Angeles. The duo will be “performing a different set each night spanning the band’s full discography, bolstered by a plethora of special guests and surprises along the way.”
Run the Jewels Ten-Year Anniversary Celebration by Killer Mike & El-P
“It’s mind-blowing to us that it’s been 10 years since we joined forces as RTJ,” Killer Mike and El-P said recently. “The best way we can think to celebrate is to get the whole family together and do what we love for the people who love us back. It’s going to be amazing, just like this entire ride has been, and we are grateful to get a chance to celebrate with our Jewel Runners this year and finally get back into clubs to destroy some stages for you.
“We’re doing four cities, four nights each, and four full albums worth of jams, many we have only performed a small handful of times during our whole existence. So on night one, it’s RTJ1 in full, plus many more songs from the other records; night two it’s RTJ2… etc. etc. We can’t wait to get out there and see you.”
