Kid Cudi has been working on new music for quite a while, and he’s finally released a new single titled “Leader Of The Delinquents.” With all of his accomplishments, he’s established himself as a pillar in the world of hip-hop. From releasing a wide variety of successful projects and collaborations to mastering the essence of the ad-lib on his tracks, Kid Cudi continues to push the musical barriers. An example of this can be seen from his project with Kanye West titled KIDS SEE GHOSTS. Especially in this project, the way his vocals blended into the creative production was on a new level. With his latest single, he continues to further grow and develop his sound.
In his new single “Leader Of The Delinquents,” it showcases his loose yet riding vocals mixed with a mid-tempo instrumental. The percussion and repetitive piano lines drive the instrumental. This heavily influences Cudi’s strong vocals. The sound that he creates is definitely a reminder towards his earlier music, but it also showcases his evolved sound that he’s developed over the years.
His creative, powerful, and candid lyrics are very interesting on the track. Lyrics that describe this mood include “Fame and loneliness, the recipe for disaster / I can’t handle this shit, I’ma get plastered / I just wanna go fast, I’m a bastard.” Another set of lyrics to contrast this topic are “Hope with age I can cope with my rage / I’m so damn passionate, there’s no safe plain.”
The themes and topics he touches on are something that he’s done many times before. With that said, his sound is always evolving and it’s great to see Kid Cudi finally dropping new music.
