Ken Carson Unveils ‘A Great Chaos (Deluxe)’ Complete With 7 New Tracks

On July 5, Ken Carson dropped the deluxe edition of A Great Chaos. While the album was originally released last October, its deluxe version shares an extended tracklist, containing seven new songs at the very end.

The Opium rapper’s timing of the deluxe album’s release seems to be quite planned, with his world tour having begun only a few days later on July 8.

Ken Carson Teases Fans Over Deluxe Album For Nearly 9 Months

Last Halloween, only a couple of weeks after the release of A Great Chaos, Carson took to twitter and posted a picture of signed album copies, directly beside a phone case reading: “more chaos.” A few days later, Carson tweeted, “more,” causing anticipation for him to drop new music to surge even more.

In the following months, Carson continued to share even more photos of merch hinting towards the idea of “more chaos.” Clearly, Carson’s fans have been itching for this drop for a while.

A Great Chaos (Deluxe) Shares 7 New Tracks

In April, Carson released “overseas,” which can now be found as the very last song on A Great Chaos (Deluxe). Not only does the high-energy, 808-heavy trap track already have over 45 million streams on Spotify, but it’s also earned Carson his first Hot 100-charting hit on Billboard. On April 27, “overseas” opened at No. 79.

Apart from “overseas,” the deluxe album’s new songs are as follows: “loading,” “more chaos,” “toxic,” “leather jacket,” “mewtwo,” and “ss.”

Both “mewtwo” and “ss” seem to be the most notable of the new tracks, not to mention they’ve gained the most Spotify streams. Not only does the production and performance stand out on “mewtwo,” but its recurring comparison of his love interest to the Pokémon Mew Two is striking and unfortgettable.

On “ss,” Carson references Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney. In fact, Sweeney’s initials seem to have even inspired the track’s name. Another key feature of “ss” is its goofy yet simultaneously enticing beat switch, which takes place around halfway through the track.

Ken Carson Embarks On The Chaos World Tour

Carson seemingly perfectly timed the release of A Great Chaos (Deluxe) to be days before the start of his 2024 Chaos World Tour, which began in Orlando on July 8 and is set to end in Prague on Oct. 5.

Just before the Chaos World Tour, Carson opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers three times, and was seen at Summerfest, Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, and Orange Warsaw Festival. Carson also played the live debut of “ss” at Rolling Loud Europe on the exact same day the deluxe album was released on all streaming platforms.

Even earlier this year, Carson was supposed to perform as part of Playboi Carti’s Antagonist Tour, along with other Opium rappers Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang. Originally set to begin in 2023, Carti rescheduled the North American leg of his tour from September to January 2024, before cancelling the U.S. shows altogether.

Ultimately, as Carson sets out on his own world tour, anticipation builds for fans eager to witness his electrifying performances and newest songs, an experience totally distinct from festivals or supporting roles.
