If you call yourself a bass-head and are still sleeping on Kai Wachi, you seriously need to reevaluate your life. Kai Wachi’s LUVSICK from his newest EP Die Young, has easily been in our top five favorite songs since the track’s release six months ago. The EP is an excellent collection of hybrid tracks that challenge you to label them as one genre. You can really hear the shift in his focus through the music production and vocal pairings.
LUVSICK carries Kai Wachi’s unique blend of trap and bass that is starting to become his signature style. Due to the excellent assortment of vocals and bass, it’s really hard for me to decide exactly what part of the song is my favorite. Naturally, the first drop a minute in comes to mind but I am also a big fan of the second verse by Ylti around two minutes, and the piano breakdown. However I would have liked to see the song come more full circle. As much as I love the piano breakdown, it makes me forget I was listening to hybrid track in the first place.
