Our inside sources at Aston said that JB was one of the best DJ’s to ever mix at the club and personally, Just Bleezy is one of my idols. As a kid that grew up in the height of the Rocafella Dynasty I’ve followed Mr. Justin Smith since he first broke onto the scene on Jay-Z’s Dynasty: Roc La Famila album.
That album was one of the first Explicit albums I wasn’t carded for at Sam Goody in the Yakima Valley Mall. As a mega fan of the entire Roc, I had every Jigga, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, and State Property album that came out. Quickly scanning album credits and fast forwarding to Just Blaze produced tracks was like a religion growing up.
What he did with samples and drum loops was the most creative extension of the groundwork laid by Pete Rock and DJ Premier I had ever heard. Fast forward to current years and Blaze was one of the first hip-hop producers to cross over to the EDM department.
