John Summit, one of the biggest names in house music, has begun teasing fans about his upcoming debut album a few weeks before his massive show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The DJ is flying high, having secured a lucrative residency agreement at the LIV Night Club, Fontainebleau, in Las Vegas. Soon after, it was announced that Summit had joined the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list, the only DJ to make the cut.
John Summit seems to have squeezed all the juice he could out of 2023. This year serves as his wall of honor, showcasing remarkable accomplishments and confirming his status as the premier artist in today’s electronic music industry. From the Forbes recognition to the residency at LIV to captivating sellout performances at renowned venues worldwide, he has proven himself a force to be reckoned with. Summit recently relocated for a stint in London, where he has released a steady stream of hints regarding his debut album.
The Debut Album
The album-mode-Summit shared a post on Instagram where he claimed to be “finishing every song idea he has on his desktop.” Comments showed that the desktop, bursting with ideas, gave some fans “anxiety” and others “a heart attack,” while Summit himself would not share specifics, simply asking to wish him luck.
The intriguing hints on the DJ’s Instagram also revealed that the new album will include female vocals, a hallmark of his musical style. His previous prominent collaborations were with UK vocalists and earned rave reviews. Summit’s Show Me, featuring the addictive crooning of Hannah Boleyn, became an instant tech house classic in 2022. Then, in 2023, Where You Are with Hayla marked a milestone in his career, captivating the hearts of millions and garnering unprecedented streams. Boleyn and Hayla have both appeared on the artist’s Instagram while working on his debut album in London.
The Dream Team
Hailing from the vibrant city of Liverpool, Hayla’s talent has taken her across the globe. Her collaboration with Kx5 on the captivating Escape introduced her to many in the EDM world. Then, in 2023, her work with Summit took her to greater heights. So, there’s no reason to believe the effect won’t be repeated with their upcoming project.
Summit’s work with Hannah Boleyn on the single Show Me has also been fruitful, implying that another collaboration on the album is possible. Hannah Boleyn has also worked with KSHMR on their recent release, Tears on the Dancefloor, and Galantis on Little Bit Yours.
Summit has also been dropping hints about other talent from the electronic music industry. Songwriter and producer Neave Applebaum is rumored to be involved in the album. His Joel Corry x MNEK – Head & Heart reached Double Platinum status and became the best-selling release of 2020 in the UK. His 2022 project, Crazy What Love Can Do by David Guetta, tore apart European and North American music charts.
Others featured in Summit’s social media include Clementine Douglas, a pop artist and songwriter. Her latest collaborations with Dillon Francis & Alesso, Sonny Fodera & MK, and David Guetta & Morten were all released in 2023. Another artist, Malou, performs pop and electro-pop, with recent collaborations including Jan Blomqvist and NOËP.
However, one person is significantly absent from Summit’s social media. The enigmatic entreaty he penned to his dream collaborator, Dua Lipa, requesting that she “disregard his DMs” provided even more intrigue. If she appeared on the album, it would indicate that Summit has been on Santa’s nice list. We shall see….
BMO Stadium
While the artist labored in London, preparations continued on the other side of the Atlantic for his epic arena show. Having sold out numerous venues worldwide, Summit is ready to tackle his biggest gig yet at LA’s BMO Stadium on Saturday, December 16.
The lineup for the show is beyond just satisfying expectations. The headliner, John Summit, leads the pack. Joining him on stage are the dynamic duo of Omnom and Odd Mob, set to perform a b2b set. Mau P is scheduled to deliver a euphoric dose of dopamine guaranteed to transport you to a blissful state. Together, these immensely gifted artists possess an undeniable power to command the stage, creating a genuinely delighted atmosphere.
The show promises head-banging acoustics and a jaw-dropping light show for the 22,000+ fans fortunate enough to get tickets. Summit recently shared a 3D rendering of the bespoke stage design for the concert, which alone would be reason enough to see the show.
The night before, “The Life of the Party” Summit will headline the LIV Club‘s Grand Opening in Vegas. That will mark the start of the rep above agreement, which will last through 2024.
A Promising Trajectory
With a moderate fanbase in 2018, Summit saw his popularity soar after the breakout track Deep End in 2020. Today, his listeners number in the millions, and the artist boasts his music label, Experts Only, which he founded in 2022 due to a desire for artistic freedom.
In addition to his solo music, Summit had had sets with some of the biggest names in the industry. He played B2B with Gorgon City, Subtronics, Kaskade, and more. His 2023 single with Hayla, Where You Are, has become one of this year’s biggest songs, with over 70 million streams and top positions in music charts. Esteemed DJs Zedd, Gorgon City, and GRiZ have also taken notice, lending their talent to create remarkable remixes of the track.
John Summit has been making waves worldwide, selling out three nights at Avant Gardner’s Brooklyn Mirage outdoor arena with over 20,000 tickets. The BMO Stadium, with a capacity of 22,000, will provide a larger venue than any he has played to date. Regardless of the numbers, Summit never ceases to wow his fans, and one thing is sure: the BMO gig will be epic!
