Multi-platinum singer-songwriter JC is making a strong case for make-up free beauty standards with his new single. Joining forces with Cash Money Records artist Jacquees, JC delivers the video for “No Filter.”
Featuring production from Marley Waters “No Filter” emits a powerfully refined sonic aura via contrasting hi-hats of subdued kicks. JC injects his masterful pen game into his cadence driven flows throughout the record. As a result, “No Filter” is a truly uplifting and unique vibe. Of course, this is a record for the ladies, as he croons on the hook “I like you without the filter.”
JC’s 2020 Releases Are All Fire & Have Meaning
JC maintains that “No Filter” has several sources of inspiration. In fact, the song is the result of a 5 AM studio session between the singer and Jacquees. The former labelmates have a spark on the record that is overall complemented by the art direction of the release. The cover art features Amy Deana — Cover Girl’s first model with vitiligo. Also, JC affirms that “No Filter” is a testament to loving everything about your person.
In addition to “No Filter” he’s has been riding the wave from his banger “Sky Scrapin.” The Calboy-leaning track opts for more of an upbeat, less moody feel and features a saucy video, also.
Additionally, the dark and somber video for his track “Suicide” continues to make its rounds. JC says “Suicide” is his contribution to the Black Lives Matter movement and utilizes the visual as a metaphor for deeper issues.
