Jay Electronica has finally released his debut album titled A Written Testimony. The Roc Nation artist has been preparing for this moment for a long time, and he doesn’t disappoint. The album itself spans to be 10-tracks in length. He includes features with names such as JAY-Z, The-Dream, and Travis Scott. Throughout the album, Electronica’s lyrics always find the halfway point between his life/thoughts on life and the reality of the world. He brings everything to the forefront of the project – which makes it highly unique.
On his album A Written Testimony, it offers many different looks in regards to the overall sound, production, messaging, and style. One of the components that stands out the most is the sampling. Through having a wide range of beats that cover so many different styles and sounds, the sampling bridges the gap between these things. The creativity represented throughout is impressive – as it’s evident that everything has been carefully thought through.
There were moments where many people thought this album would never be released. Since signing to Roc Nation back in 2010, a majority of people thought this project would arrive much sooner. Regardless, it’s here and he’s blessed us all with a highly innovative and creative project.
