Canadian singer-songwriter, Jamie Fine, rises towards fame with her new viral single, “Hate Me Love Me.” She claims this song was written after witnessing a difficult breakup between two of her friends. Although the song is lighthearted, it touches on toxic relationships and how people are better off without them. It is best interpreted as an anthem to remove toxic people from your life. The overall song has a swing-type beat with a lighthearted chord progression. Her songwriting shines bright, with a very catchy melody.
“I can’t be stuck in the middle of something I didn’t do. She shooting shots without thinking when she don’t got any proof. You say you hate me then love me, ooh girl you got me confused.”

As a pop artist from Ottawa, Jamie Fine is known for creating music containing very relatable and honest messages. As a musician, there were many artists that influenced the music she creates. These artists include Black Eyed Peas and Nickelback. Jamie was also very influenced by hip-hop, playing J. Cole on repeat in between performances at multicultural shows in high school. Her hip-hop influence is transparent in her music, especially in her instrumentals.
In addition to her musical talent, she also created her own catering business after graduating from culinary school. It was not until 2017 that she decided to leave that business behind and pursue music full time. Thankfully she did, as her music career seems to be on a roll already having signed to Univeral Music Canada back in May of 2022. She now has multiple singles that have gained a lot of popularity over time. Every day, she is getting more and more recognition and is becoming more prominent on social media as well.
