Fight fans are in for a treat on July 20, inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, as DAZN brings Internet sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul taking on former UFC star and current face of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Mike ‘Platinum’ Perry in the squared circle.
The bout will consist of ten three-minute rounds, guaranteeing action-packed entertainment for fans in attendance and tuning in from all over the globe. The fighters agreed on a 200 lb. weight limit for this bout.
This will be Perry’s first professional boxing match, where Paul will make his eleventh appearance.
With the entire world as its audience, the match will determine if an MMA fighter can finally put an end to the buzz surrounding Jake Paul in the fight game.

How Paul vs. Perry Developed
Coming off back-to-back first-round stoppage wins over Ryan Bourland and Andre August, Jake Paul will be looking to continue his destructive ways inside the boxing ring.
Initially, Jake Paul was scheduled to face boxing megastar and hall of famer 58-year-old Mike Tyson at this event. However, the bout was scratched after recent health issues with the former heavyweight champion. This fight is rescheduled for November 15.
Perry decided to save the event and step in as Tyson’s replacement. Many fight pundits argue this is a much tougher matchup for the 27-year-old Paul.
The 32-year-old former UFC welterweight, Perry, made a seamless transition to the sport of Bare Knuckle Fighting, where he has not just survived but thrived, solidifying himself as the face since his last appearance under the UFC banner back in April 2021.
In his three years with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, Perry has defeated household names in the fight game, such as Eddie Alvarez, Thiago Alves, Michael ‘Venom’ Page, and Luke Rockhold. Perry is one of the few fighters to leave the UFC and become a bigger name after the fact.
Now, he will look to arguably make the biggest splash of his entire fighting career as he faces the daunting task of boxing Jake Paul.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Prediction
Looking at this matchup between Jake Paul and Mike Perry, the former MMA fighter will come into this fight at a relatively smaller stature than his opponent.
Paul’s significant advantage in experience in boxing is further highlighted by the fact that he has faced veterans in the fight game, including Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and Tommy Fury.
Perry stands at 5-foot-10 and weighed in at 196.6 lbs. on Friday.
Paul stands around 6 feet 1 and barely made weight, weighing in at 200 lbs. on the dot. He initially weighed in at 200.4 lbs. but returned to the scales and successfully made weight an hour later.
Perry has a 71-inch reach, while Paul has a 76-inch reach. This means that Perry will have to exert a lot of effort to close the distance on the taller, longer, and bigger fighter.
Both men fight out of an orthodox stance. That said, I expect Paul to enforce this size advantage against the smaller Perry.
With both men looking to get comfortable with distance management, the first few rounds are expected to be a display of skill and strategy, promising an exciting fight.
Expect Paul to have a high output once the feeling out rounds are through, using stiff jabs, followed by straights to Perry’s body.
Paul will use this initial sequence of punches to get a rhythm early in the fight and eventually look to set up a devastating right hand that will send Perry crashing to the canvas.
With the potential for a dramatic knockout looming, I am predicting Jake Paul to win via fifth-round knockout over Mike Perry, a moment that will surely keep fans on the edge of their seats.
