The entire world of boxing fans has been rattled to the core thanks to former internet sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul and his highlight-reel stoppage over former UFC star and Bare Knuckle Fighting champion Mike Perry.

This sanctioned boxing match, which consisted of eight three-minute rounds, took place on July 20 inside Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.

These improvements have consistently shined throughout his last couple of fights, handily defeating the likes of Mike Perry, Ryan Bourland, Andre August, and Nate Diaz. With his recent rise in competition, Paul has separated himself from the rest of these social media influencers, who have turned boxers.

Jake Paul’s Savvy Performance

Coming into the fight, many fight pundits gave the boxing novice Perry little to no chance of pulling off the upset victory. These expectations served correctly, as the much smaller, less experienced, and older 32-year-old Perry was knocked down a total of three times during this highly anticipated boxing match.

As anticipated, the fight showcased Jake Paul’s superior boxing skills. His poise, footwork, shot selection, and timing were all on display, highlighting the stark contrast in boxing prowess between the two fighters.

Perry was outmatched from pillar to post regarding tangibles and intangibles in this matchup.

The fight’s first knockdown came from a nasty right hand just forty seconds into the opening round after Perry rushed toward Paul with his hands at his waist.

The second knockdown of the fight came in the second round after Paul lulled the incoming Perry into loosening up his guard, which allowed Paul to sneak a heavy right hand on the jaw of the former UFC star and Bare Knuckle Fighting champion.

The third and final knockdown of this intense boxing match came in the sixth round, as Paul delivered a tight left hook to the chin of an already bloodied and battered Perry, sealing the outcome of the match.

This left hand initiated the final sequence of blitzing punches Paul landed while moving forward with intensity. The final punch of the night was a swift right hand that finally sent Perry to the ring canvas for the last time.

Clearly out on his feet, Perry attempted to regather his composure to continue; however, the referee had seen enough after Perry stumbled on his own.
