Imagine Festival is only a week away (at time of writing) and it is my gateway into EDM Festivals. I am a first-timer, which means that I do not have ANY experience with music festivals in general. I am used to single-night raves primarily, so the four day behemoth that is Imagine Festival is sure to give me a challenge. This is my Beginner’s Journey To Imagine Festival 2023
The Festival itself splits into four stages. Every stage offers a variety of artists and sounds. These bring you a wide mix of tastes throughout all four days of the festival.
AMAZONIA STAGE
The Amazonia Stage kicks us off with huge bass-heavy acts like Big Gigantic and SVDDEN DEATH. This stage guarantees that it will wreck you as much as they possibly can, which is wonderful.
I’m personally hyped to see HE$H and A Hundred Drums for a deeper sound.
DISCO INFERNO STAGE
House Music is still bigger than ever, with the Disco Inferno stage firing off on all cylinders. Big names in the scene such as John Summit, Matroda, and Sofi Tukker step up to the stage for this year.
Outside of those three, I’m excited to hear sets from Elderbrook, Bonnie X Clyde, and Kasablanca.
AERIA STAGE
I have no idea how to describe this one, but does the Aeria Stage deliver in terms of names. Crankdat and Shockone are there to throw down with their heavy style. Slander breaks away from their usual mold to present “Before Dawn”, a majority techno set. Finally, Deadcrow brings the newer genre WAVE, a mixture of Cyberpunk, Melodic Dubstep, and Trap to the festival scene.
I’m ready for Infected Mushroom, as I’ve seen their live sets before in the past and am all too ready to jump back in for 2023.
OCEANIA STAGE
Welcome to the main stage. Oceania Stage has some of the biggest names on the list, including legends like Chris Lake, Dillon Francis, NGHTMRE, Dom Dolla, and Subtronics.
I’m going to try to see as many unknowns (to me) as possible, but Zomboy, Boombox Cartel, Rezz, and Trivecta are must-sees for me. Dillon Francis back to back with Knock2 is a combination I also did not expect, but I support.
As a beginner to the festival space, I do feel a tad on the nervous side. With my tent that only fits 1.5 people, an unholy amount of granola bars, and a water bottle that got delayed in shipping, I’m excited to finally experience Imagine Festival.
I will be filming the entire adventure as well as releasing a post-coverage article here on Respect My Region, so look forward to that in the week following Imagine!
