Illmaculate Discusses Portland’s Hip Hop Police

On March 1st, at the Blue Monk in Portland, Illmaculate refused to perform on stage because of an inappropriate police presence during his show with Mikey Vegaz, Luck One and OnlyOne.  You can read more about that, here.  It wasn’t the first time a hip hop show had been shut down by the Portland Police, but if Illmaculate can help it, it will be the last.  A few days after the incident, I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Illmaculate about his experience that night at the Blue Monk and about the on-going conflict between the Portland Police and hip hop.  Filmed and edited by Respect My Region’s own Connor Magee, you can watch the interview below and join the discussion.
