Our list for this week contains some great hip-hop tracks from Beyoncé, Post Malone, GloRilla and Bad Bunny. As well as some alternative and R&B tracks that are sure to pique your interest.

“America Has A Problem” – Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé

This past Friday May 19, Beyoncé released a new remix for her 2022 song “America Has a Problem,” off her album Renaissance. The remix features Kendrick Lamar, who has worked with Beyoncé twice before. They released “Freedom,” in 2016 and “Nile” in 2019. “America Has A Problem,” samples the 1990 song “America Has A Problem (Cocaine)” by Kilo Ali. In this newly released remix, Kendrick adds to the song by rapping about many modern-day American issues. With Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar being two of the biggest artists in the world, this remix could be the song of the summer.

“Mourning”- Post Malone

Post Malone is hitting the ground running this summer. He is set to release his new album AUSTIN, on July 28 and is setting off on his North American tour on July 8. This week he released “Mourning,” track five off of his album. The song is an up-tempo ballad and tells the story of not wanting a party to end. “Don’t want to sober up. The sun is killing my buzz, that’s why they call it mourning.” This is a great track to play at the end of a long summer night and we are looking forward to Post’s new album.

“The Plug” – Jay Worthy

Jay Worthy released the track “The Plug,” this week. It is track five on his new album, Nothing Bigger Than The Program, which was released May 26. The album is entirely produced by Roc Marciano. “The Plug,” features Kokane and Ab-Soul. Additionally, the song has a classic Roc Marciano beat, Kokane delivers a falsetto hook and Ab-Soul raps on a great verse. It is a great collaboration, and we are excited to see what comes from Jay Worthy’s new record.

“Lick or Sum”- GloRilla

On May 23, GloRilla released her new single “Lick or Sum.” This comes after the release of her album Anyways, Life’s Great Bonus Version. The album was released in March and added five tracks to the original album. “Lick or Sum,” has a great beat and clever lyrics like all of GloRilla’s songs. She is clearly on her way to be among the ranks of other great female rappers such as Meghan Thee Stallion and Cardi B.

“WHERE SHE GOES”- Bad Bunny

Following his two Grammy wins this past year, Bad Bunny is back with his new song “WHERE SHE GOES.” The song has a great beat that keeps the listener moving. This track is far more EDM influenced than his past music and we are loving it. He released a music video for the song this past week. There were several brief celebrity appearances in the video, including Frank Ocean, Dominick Fink and Lil Uzi Vert.

“Change Your Mind”- Bully

Alternative pop-rock artist Bully released her new song, “Change Your Mind,” on May 17. It is a single on her new album Lucky For You, which will be released on June 2. So far, she has released four songs from the new album, “Days Move Slow,” “Hard To Love,” “Change Your Mind” and “Lose You,” which features Soccer Mommy. “Change Your Mind,” includes great rock guitar work and tells the story of not being able to let someone go. If you are looking for a rock influenced song, look no further!

“The Journey”- H.E.R.

R&B/ Soul artist H.E.R. also released a new single this week. On May 20, H.E.R. released the beautiful ballad “The Journey.” The song contains powerful vocals, a classic piano progression, and gorgeous strings. The song is about overcoming hard times and is a real tearjerker. H.E.R. has an incredible voice and soulful music, “The Journey” is not a song you want to overlook.

“Pegasus”- Arlo Parks Feat. Phoebe Bridgers

Arlo Parks released her new album My Soft Machine today. Prior to the album being released 5 tracks have been released including “Pegasus.” It is a very chill track with a great beat and soundscape. The song features Phoebe Bridgers, one of the biggest alternative artists in recent history. The song begins with Parks singing on her own and Phoebe comes in with gorgeous backing vocals about halfway through. It is the perfect track for a late-night summer car drive.
