Hot Music Friday Featuring Bas, J. Cole, Denzel Curry and More

Another week, another Hot Music Friday. This time around, we got you a solid list ripe with hip-hop and R&B, though we made sure to top it off with some light bedroom pop seasoning.

You deserve to treat yourself on the weekends, so scroll on for some fresh tunes from Bas, J. Cole, Denzel Curry and many more.

Hot Music Friday – July 21, 2023

“Passport Bros” – Bas (feat. J. Cole)

The Dreamville team rarely disappoints, so the chances of their two key players letting fans down are slim to none. Bas and J. Cole have joined forces once again to bring us a force for good that we’re thrilled to open Hot Music Friday with.

“From the Hood” – King Von & Lil Durk

There’s something in Chicago’s water — we don’t quite know what it is, but the city has been mass producing one banger after another from decades now. With two of their most prized spitters on the same joint, we’re just glad to be here for it.

“BLOOD ON MY NIKEZ” – Denzel Curry

Denzel Curry is that middleman who brings together hip-hop heads from both ends of the spectrum, and he deserves his flowers for getting it right over and over and over again. This man simply doesn’t miss, and it’s an honor to present you with more evidence of that this Hot Music Friday.

“Make a Baby” – Fat Tony & Taydex

We handpicked this crossover between Fat Tony and Taydex to tone things down real quick. It’s important to pace yourself when you’re all set to turn up for the weekend, and this slice of butter is sure to help you moderate your energy.

“Tied Up!” – Genesis Owusu

Aaaaand we’re back in party mode. Genesis Owusu got us covered with this bouncy track that is guaranteed to get you moving, whether you like it or not. Let’s hope you got enough rest, because once this comes on, you will be dancing.

“PIECCE OF SH!T” – Bizarre

We love nostalgia with a modern twist in our Hot Music Friday lists, so it only seemed fair that to bring attention to this hilarious yet fire new song by D12’s Bizarre. The Detroit rap veteran is going steady as ever — see for yourself!

Everybody Good? – Black Milk

Black Milk’s been nice with it. If you didn’t already know, then we’re happy to lure you in and introduce you to another Detroit Hip-hop titan. Forever smooth on the beats, he got bars too, and the end result is simply spectacular.

Supermodels – Claud

This is that little twist we referred to earlier. There’s enough hip-hop and R&B this Hot Music Friday to see you through the weekend, but when it’s time to wind down, be sure to throw on Claud’s new album. You won’t drift off to it because the pace keeps fluctuating, but it’s dreamy and therapeutic, which makes it necessary.
