Hot Music Friday April 28

Hot Music Friday Featuring Killer Mike, Nas, No I.D. and More

April’s over already, so you best believe we’re going to close it off on a high. This Hot Music Friday will be a celebration of the month gone by as well as a boost for the one that lies ahead. Our list this week is mostly hip-hop with a little adrenaline bump at the end that’ll carry you into May feeling like a million bucks.

This week, we got you some fire from Killer Mike, Nas, No I.D. and many more. Scroll on and listen to our final list for April!

Hot Music Friday – April 28, 2023

“Don’t Let the Devil” – Killer Mike (feat. El-P & thankugoodsir)

Produced by No I.D., El-P and Little Shalimar, this knockout joint is the first single from Killer Mike’s upcoming studio record. Michael will be the Atlanta MC’s first solo album in over a decade and is scheduled to drop on June 16. Though this isn’t technically a Run the Jewels song, it has the same energy and then some. This one will set your speakers on flames, so it had to be the first on our list for Hot Music Friday.

“Runaway” – Swizz Beats (feat. Nas)

The opening track of Hip-Hop 50: Vol. 2 will get you hyped. This is the follow-up to DJ Premiere’s EP from last year and Swizz Beats hits the ground running on the sequel. Nas, of course, has had everyone in awe over the past five-plus years by rapping better than most A-listers today. The fact that he’s chosen domination over retirement will always be impressive, and he’s just another cut of him putting his evergreen skill on display.

“GS 350” – Jay Worthy & Harry Fraud

Harry Fraud is an unsung hero of the hip-hop community. You give this guy some time in the kitchen, and he’ll cook you a masterpiece with every ingredient chosen with the greatest attention to detail. Here, he seasons a silky beat with bars from Canadian MC Jay Worthy. Fresh out the over, we’re thrilled to serve you this delicacy for Hot Music Friday.

“Holding My Breath” – Atmosphere

The new album’s just around the corner, so here’s one final taste of what awaits on the other side. The sixth and final single from So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously should give you yet another reason to anticipate the release of the full-length record on May 5. This track contains everything we love about Atmosphere but with some reggae flavor, and we can’t wait to see how this trippy number fits into the larger tracklist. Stay tuned!

“Hot Sauce” – Fivio Foreign

We really do have some fire for you this week — that wasn’t a throwaway statement! Fivio Foreign’s latest single is lit and exactly what you need to turn up. “Hot Sauce” for Hot Music Friday was simply meant to be, so be sure to soundtrack your weekend with this track.

“Back In Office” – No I.D. & Saba

This is definitely No I.D.’s week. It’s tough to hold back from including him on the list twice when he’s churning out hits at this rate. Then there’s Saba, about whom we’d rather not say much because that just ruins the fun. Listening to these two titans on the same track is pure magic, so consider yourself lucky if you haven’t already heard this one.

“Chrome Hearted” – OhGeesy (feat. Tyga)

Shoreline Mafia founding member OhGeesy joins forces with fellow California rapper Tyga on this colorful new cut. Both spitters bring the heat with such fluency that you forget they’re not full-time partners. You know a collaboration’s been executed flawlessly when the fit is so perfect.

“Particle” – 12th Planet

Let’s call this one a curveball since we kept it mostly hip-hop this week. We picked this absolute banger by 12th Planet to stoke the fire this Hot Music Friday. If you dare to throw this one (and we’re really hoping you do), be prepared to go hard all weekend long.

“Blue in the Face” – Rezz (feat. Shadient & fknsyd)

Here’s our second wildcard of the week. Canadian DJ and producer Rezz keeps its 100 on her newest single and it is … intense. If you’re built for it, make sure you check out this collaboration with Shadient & fknsyd — it’s grimy and chaotic yet exactly what you want playing in the background when you go hard.
