Gareth Emery is back with some comforting visuals to move us in this time of stagnation. The last few weeks have been hectic, to say the least, not only for those in Los Angeles but for those around the world as well. Every person on this planet is dealing with COVID-19 in some way, shape or form. The majority of people have been made to stay inside due to social distancing rules. As a result, we have seen a lot of creativity come to life in the meantime.
Gareth Emery portrays the last several weeks of our newer reality extremely well in his latest track “Elise.” In the official video, some of the first text messages he starts to receive from his partner are the news headlines that express concern about a potential virus threat.
At the time of the first texts, the virus was only recorded overseas. So the idea that any sort of virus could reach southern California and become a major threat was unimaginable. As weeks in the video start to pass you begin to notice how things start to gradually get worse. Viewers start to see how much of an impact the virus actually is having worldwide.

On the flip side of things, as the days continue to pass by the video starts to show the opposite. It shows how our original day-to-day activities start to become the norm again. Stores start to re-open, shows begin to be played and the world begins to get back to what we know as “normal.” This is a great expression to give us hope that one-day things will be back to the way they used to be.
In addition to the moving visuals, Elise instantly gets you in the feels. As the closing track to Gareth Emery‘s upcoming album “The Lasers,” he couldn’t have chosen a better song to help end it.
