Fresh C hasn’t had an easy road to get where he is today. In his new track, “Crisis,” Fresh opens up about his struggles with PTSD and anxiety as well as his father abandoning him as a child. Fresh has thrown hints of these struggles in past songs and it has really hit home for a lot of people struggling with the same types of issues. Many of these people have reached out to Fresh which played a role in the creation of this track.
In Arizona, it is legal to have your work rights relinquished because of PTSD. But Fresh, being who he is, is done with the bullshit and having to hide who he is for a check. Pissed off and not caring what others say or think anymore, Fresh C breaks the rules and tells all in “Crisis”.
The Culmination
Some of the best music comes from raw emotion and that’s exactly what “Crisis” is. It all started when there was an issue with clearance on a sample. After waiting for 67 days, the project was scrapped, effectively wasting Fresh and his team’s time. If you’re familiar with Fresh at all and his hits like, “Friend or Foe”, you’d know that he has no time for that kind of a mess. With his anger and issues from PTSD starting to get the better of him, he began to see red so he went to the one place he can always count on. The studio.
In a matter of 15 minutes, “Crisis” was written and recorded. Within 12 short man hours, Fresh had written, recorded, mixed and mastered, produced, anything you could think of, this hustler got it done. The work has more than paid off.
“Crisis” is the biggest rollout for Fresh C to date. It’s been a long journey and a relentless grind but the Arizona rapper is ready for his story to be heard. Fresh C hopes this song will inspire those who struggle with their own problems to stay strong and to not be ashamed or embarrassed. We all have our own crisis going on in our lives, but the true crisis is when you can’t face it and fight back. Always fight back.
