His newest single, “Fire in the Sky,” is a track also off the soundtrack of “Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings,” the new Marvel movie which is currently out in the theaters. The movie is Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and stars actors such as Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tim Roth, and Tony Leung Chiu-wai. The previous Shang-Chi stories had many racial stereotypes; but with this new release, Marvel looks to push against those depictions. Furthermore, Marvel asked 88rising to put together the Shang-Chi soundtrack, a music platform which highlights artists of Asian descent.
About The Track
“Fire in the Sky” is part of the 18-track soundtrack for the new Marvel movie. The album has features including Swae Lee, Rich Brian, EARTHGANG, Rick Ross, Saweetie, DJ Snake, and more. The single is a classicly smooth and groovy Anderson .Paak beat, with lyrics about falling in love in the summertime.
The sentimental track captures a summery and upbeat vibe and talks about a moment of first love. The chorus of the song includes lyrics remarking on this. “We was movin’ kinda fast, but the feelin’ was right; we should cruise out in Nevada, get married tonight; life is simple, long as you in my life, watching fireworks in the sky;” which describes him riding shotgun with his new lover driving around in Nevada watching the fireworks and enjoying his new love. The breezy and laid-back track fits perfectly in the new Marvel movie. The film is out in theaters now and is a classic Marvel movie alongside a soundtrack from many popular artists in today’s music scene.
