Singer, rapper and activist Erykah Badu is all set to hit the road this summer. To celebrate a career that has spanned nearly three decades, she will play in 25 cities across the United States beginning in early June. Joining her on tour will be none other than fellow rap veteran Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def.
The Unfollow Me Tour will commence on June 11 in the artist’s native state of Texas and cover most major cities across the country, including Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and New York City, among others. After a packed month and a half, Badu will call it a day after playing a show in Dallas, her hometown, on July 23.
Tickets for the Badu and Bey trek go on sale Thursday, April 20. That same day, she is expected to make an appearance in San Francisco for a 420 celebration event. The annual gathering at Golden Gate Park’s Hippie Hill brings together weed lovers from all over the country and Badu will is scheduled to perform for them this year. Following this, she will assume the form of her moniker, DJ Low Down Loretta Brown, and perform at an afterparty at the Midway.
The next few months are packed for Badu and we’re thrilled that one of the most important voices of the modern era is back to doing what she does best. The upcoming tour is set up to allow fans across the country to watch her and Bey live without having to travel too far. This’ll goes a long way and we appreciate the thought behind it all!
