End The Reign Of Miracle Whip: The Most Over Grown Strain of 2020

If you’re a Washington State cannabis consumer, you know the strain Miracle Whip by Capulator. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the cut is there. I’ve personally grown the genetics under both LED and HPS. It’s ease and yield make it a popular cut. BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN RETAILERS NEED 10 VERSIONS OF IT. I’m here to propose we end the reign of Miracle Whip. I’m convinced it’s the most over grown strain of 2020.

The Miracle Whip Strain

It only takes a quick google search to find claims of false scarcity. The first page that comes up is Hytiva.com. They make the claim “The strain Miracle Whip is a rare one, so if your dispensary carries it then you’re in luck”. Let me tell you, in Washington State Miracle Whip is everywhere.

A quick search supports my claim. An incomplete list of producers includes; SubX, Sugarleaf, Dankczar, Freya, Cascadia, Sasquatch Cannabis Company, Ceder Creek, Gold Leaf, and Phat Panda. We even reviewed the cut produced by ZOZ for the West Coast Weed Tour last year. At the time, it was a rare and difficult strain to find.

Why The Strain Is Everywhere

Of course, many things have contributed to the popularity of Miracle Whip in Washington. The simplest answer is to blame Cloneworld Northwest. The clone producer boasts its ability to sell 8k clones per month to licensed i502 companies.

“We are selling 8,000 clones per month. It is first come first serve and pre-orders must be paid in full Pricing: 500+ clones $11 each 100-500 $35 each 1-100 clones $100 each. These clones are for flower production purposes only. No selling our clones or strains.” -Posted on Kush.com.

It’s very important for a brand to stay relevant by introducing new strains to the menu. When a license is awarded in Washington i502, the owners are given a window of time to bring in new genetics. If the company doesn’t have access to genetics, they have to purchase them from clone producers. Furthermore, outside that initial window, i502 genetics can only legally be sold between existing producers with established genetics.

If you need new genetics to stay relevant, but you cant buy the most popular seeds. Miracle Whip by Capulator is worth the hype, so you want it for your menu. Unfortunately, everyone has access to the same clone producer. So everyone has Miracle Whip on their menu.

What This Means For You

Yes, Miracle Whip is a great strain. It’s dense flower structure and rich terpene profile smells of fresh, flowers, and citrus. It is blissfully sedating and wonderfully calming. BUT DO YOU NEED 10 VERSIONS OF IT?

NO. And stocking all of those versions takes away space for the strains you do want. Purchasers try to bring the strain’s that people want to their shops. These hype strains take money from the dependable workhorses that we all know and love. Unfortunately, to change this problem the legislation needs to change to allow new genetics into facilities later into their existence.
