The best part of the week is finally here. DK Projects has three artists dropping new music to give us an exemplary Friday drop. Vaski and Midoca are each give us a single, “Squad” and “I Can’t Keep Up With You.” While Power Glove drops their 5-track Halloween special EP, “Throwback” on us.
Vaski Midoca
Vaski is stepping back into the spotlight after taking a sabbatical of sorts to rediscover himself and his sound. This period of reflection allowed him to look deep within himself. Realizing his music and original vision had become “stale and monotonous” with not much there to inspire him. He began to spiral and some were wondering if he’d ever make it back.
Eventually something in Vaski clicked and he found himself back in the studio creating “Squad.” An EDM inspired hip-hop track that reminds me a lot of Flume’s “Lose It” featuring Vic Mensa. The songs builds up into a dope beat drop while also having those lyrics that are delivered with a bit of attitude.

“I Can’t Keep Up With You” is Midoca’s contribution to this new music Friday. An ambient and euphoric track whose layered production kind of lulls you into a state of serenity. Midocas melancholy vocals added with that production puts you in this weird spot of feeling a new love but also feeling this sense of heartbreak. Singing of empowerment and breaking away from mistreatment. He embeds those conflicting emotions into the song. Knowing what’s best for your future but missing what was the best of your past.

Power Glove is in the Halloween spirit giving us a full EP of treats with a little trick up their sleeve. Throwback is a compilation of some of your favorite old school bone chilling vibes with a fresh electronic production. A full ocean of synth-wave nostalgia. Throwback is perfect for your spooky Halloween playlist or even just a straight jam session. My favorite track off this EP would have to be “Power Core.” Which reminds me of those old school Nintendo video games during an intense level.
