2024 Dancing With The Stars Premiere Recap

The 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars premiered on Sept. 17, and airs live on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on the American Broadcasting Network (ABC) with a simulcast on Disney+. Episodes are made available for streaming the next day on Hulu. Actor and comedian Alfonso Ribeiro and former professional dancer Julianne Hough returned as hosts, and Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough returned as judges for this season of Dancing with the Stars.

The 33rd season of Dancing with the Stars features 13 competing couples, made up of one celebrity and one professional dancer.

Witney Carson and NFL wide receiver Danny Amendola; Ezra Sosa and Con artist Anna Delvy; Jenna Johnson and The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei; Daniella Karagach and former NBA all-star Dwight Howard; Brandon Armstrong and actress and singer Chandler Kinney; Alan Bersten and Olympic rugby player IIona Maher; Gleb Savchenko and model Brooks Nader; Rylee Arnold and Olympic artistic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik; Val Chmerkovskiy and reality television personality Phaedra Parks; Brett Stewart and actor Eric Roberts; Pasha Pashkov, and actress Tori Spelling; Sasha Farber and The Bachelorette star Jenn Tran; and Emma Slater and actor Reginald VelJohnson.

Dancing with the Stars Week One Scores

Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong emerged victorious on the first week of Dancing with the Stars. They did a tango dance number to Chappel Roan‘s “Hot to Go!” scoring 26 points from the judges. Kinney and Armstrong followed Jenn Trann and Sasha Farber and preceded Dwight Howard and Danielle Karagach.

Meanwhile, Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart had the lowest score of all couples, at a combined 15 points. They performed a cha-cha-cha dance to Bob Segar’s “Old Time Rock and Roll.” Roberts and Stewart followed Dwight Howard and Danielle Karagach and preceded Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov.

Joey and Jenna Johnson

The first couple to perform on the 33rd season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson. They performed a cha-cha-cha dance to “Dancin’ in the Country” by Tyler Hubbard. Graziadei and Johnson scored a combined 21 points from the judges for their dance.

Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko

Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko were the next couple to perform on the season 33 premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Nader and Savchenko scored a combined 18 points from the judges for their tango dance to Britney Spears’ “Piece of Me.”

Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten

The next couple to perform on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten. They performed the cha-cha-cha to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” by Shania Twain, scoring a combined 18 points from the judges.

Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater

The next couple to perform on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Reginald VelJohnson and Emma Slater. They performed a salsa dance to “Motownphilly” by Boyz II Men. VelJohnson and Slater scored a combined 16 points from the judges, one point higher than Eric Roberts and Britt Stewart, the lowest-scoring couple.

Danny Amendola and Whitney Carson

The season premiere of Dancing with the Stars continued with a performance by Danny Amendola and Whitney Carson. They danced the tango to “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey and David Guetta. Amendola and Carson scored a combined 20 points from the judges.

Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov

The next couple to perform on the season 33 premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Tori Spelling and Pasha Pashkov. They danced the foxtrot to P!nk‘s “Trustfall.” Spelling and Pashkov received a score of 17 combined points from the judges.

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber

Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber were the next couple to perform on the 33rd season premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Tran and Farber danced the cha-cha-cha to “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. The judges gave Tran and Farber a combined 19 points for their performance.

Dwight Howard and Danielle Karagach

The ninth couple to perform on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Dwight Howard and Danielle Karagach. They performed a salsa dance to Montell Jordan’s “This is How We Do It.” Howard and Karagach scored a combined 22 points from the judges, receiving the second-highest score behind Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong.

Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy

The 11th couple to perform on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Phaedra Parks and Val Chmerkovskiy. They danced the cha-cha-cha to Whitney Houston‘s “I’m Every Woman.” Parks and Chmerkovskiy scored a combined 19 points from the judges.

Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold

The 12th couple to perform on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars was Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold. They performed a jive dance to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.” Nedoroscik and Arnold scored a combined 21 points from the judges.

Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa

The season 33 premiere of Dancing with the Stars ended with a performance by Anna Delvey and Ezra Sosa. They danced the cha-cha-cha to “Espresso,” by Sabrina Carpenter. Delvey and Sosa earned a combined 18 points from the judges for their performance.
