Dabin, a JUNO nominated producer from Toronto, presents us with his new EP Wild Youth (Acoustic) following the release of the original studio version back in March 2019.
Dabin has only been producing electronic music since 2011 yet he’s climbed his way to the top with almost a million monthly listeners on Spotify. He’s landed some solid collaborations with international DJs such as Seven Lions, Slander, and Said The Sky.
Following his original release in March 2019, Dabin really showcased his musical abilities. In the past, Dabin had self-taught the guitar, drums, and piano which is prominent in his sound today as a renowned producer. Wild Youth consists of 10 songs, but his acoustic release only has five.
Each track chosen is elegantly slowed down, stripped of the heavy EDM synths and bass. “In Fames” feat. Lexi Norton was one of the most popular entries the original EP and Dabin’s slow rendition is nothing short of chilling.
All five songs are carefully selected and altered to emphasize the bare instruments that are the backbone of Dabin’s sound. This is definitely an EP you can throw on in the background. There isn’t a note out of place in all 22 minutes of this rolling ballad.
Dabin is an artist to take note of as his music has the ability to be so many different things. Wild Youth (Acoustic) features five singers: RUNN, Dia Frampton, Essenger, Lexi Norton, and Trove. Dabin did an amazing job of focusing every track on the beautiful, melodic vocals and unique sound of every artist.
