DeSaus is one of the concentrate brands that I do not get enough opportunities to try. They seem to be on sporadic shelves throughout Washington, but when I do find them, they’re a constant pick up. Delivering a consistently flavorful product that doesn’t taste the same as all their other flavors are important. There are a few companies I cannot tell the difference between their concentrates because the flavor is all the same. DeSaus breaks that trend, especially with their super loud Crown Royal strain.
This hybrid is indica dominant and blends Blueberry with Purple Kush to create a saliva-inducing flavor profile. I should be clear now, it smells nothing like the Canadian whiskey of the same name. This BHO wax provides the needed texture and smell needed to convince me that it is worth dabbing. I’m fairly picky about the dabs that I smoke, they need to have the appropriate consistency for this style of extraction and they need to deliver a heavy hit of flavor. DeSaus managed to provide both of those and deliver some potent effects that sent me searching for more.
Contained inside a glass jar is an amber-colored wax textured concentrate that releases a heavy sugary berry aroma with a reminiscent smell of pine needles. A tantalizing combination of smells. The concentrate evenly sits across the bottom of the jar making it easy to scoop up a dab sized chunk with your tool. When I held the jar up to the light, each small segment of the extract appeared to be almost translucent.
My first dab, I definitely smiled a little. I found this at Danks Wonder Emporium in Olympia — they’ve got excellent prices, but this is better than most of the oil at that price point I’ve purchased there. Immediately my legs felt heavy, but there was a powerful desire to move! Almost immediately I found myself heading out the door. The combination of flavor, potency, and beautiful day pushed me outside. Crown Royal from DeSaus provided the perfect vehicle to transport my mind and body through a quiet Tuesday afternoon.
