The legendary Cookies empire has partnered with CommCan to open up shop in Massachusetts with two new locations and their line up of strains and brands. This is a big step for the quickly expanding mega-brand to establish a footprint out on the East Coast.
The move into Massachusetts is a big deal because Cookies closest location to the East Coast previously is in Michigan. The decision to partner with CommCan seems like a no-brainer since they are family-owned and operated by Massachusetts residents.
Cookies has come a long way from the San Francisco garage where they started the highly sought-after Girl Scout Cookies strain. Now a global cannabis company, founders Berner and Jai still value the same things that got them started, authenticity and innovative genetics.
Co-founder, Berner, has been quoted speaking on his reasoning:
As Cookies continues to expand, I focus on cherry-picking the best operators in each state. We want a long term partner that is just as passionate about our genetics as we are, understands all parts of our operation, and most importantly, one we can trust to deliver quality products consistently, to the market. CommCan is the best partner for us in Massachusetts and we are fortunate to be bringing Cookies to the East Coast.
Company Statement
CommCan will be offering 10 strains on launch. Cookies will be available starting May 5th at two locations; their recreational and medical dispensary in Millis and their medical-only dispensary in Southborough. There are plans to open another recreational dispensary in Rehoboth.
In an expression of gratitude for the partnership, CommCan CEO said:
“Earning the trust and respect of Berner and his team is a validation of everything we have spent the last six years building here. We are a family business, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the Cookies family now as well.
The partnership will also bring to Massachusetts Cookies brands like Lemonnade, Runtz, Minntz, Grandiflora, Powerzzzup Genetics, Run The Jewels and Collins Ave.
Here’s hoping we get see some Cookies products finding their way into Northeast states. I’d love to see some in PA!
