Sometimes, simplicity reigns supreme. That gets lost in today’s go-getting, tech-oriented society. Sometimes, you need to just kick it simple. Before Cask & Trotter, I went back to the basics of smoking and busted out the glass pipe and a gram of Private Reserve’s Pink Cookies strain, by Northwest Cannabis Solutions.
The environment of the Cask & Trotter was awesome. The interior is filled with real wood and leather trim. Simple and beautiful, the entire thing felt like a big cabin. The service was good as well, despite walking in during a dinner rush, I was still in and out in an hour, and I took my time. The Steve Miller Band and was blasting over the speakers when I came in and other classics came up like Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way.” Is there anything else you would rather drink whiskey too? If so, lose my number immediately.

I ordered a glass of Ghost Owl on the rocks as well as a trio of sliders off the happy hour menu. Each one was juicy and delicious. The flavors all complimented each other nicely and the meat was the centerpiece of each bite, and that’s how it should be. Each slider had chopped dill pickle and a light creamy slaw in the center of a soft, chewy roll.
The brisket and pastrami sliders we’re perfect, but the pulled pork was a bit dry, but that was quickly fixed with some of Cask & Trotter’s homemade Carolina barbecue sauce. To top it all off, the Mariners we’re winning their game which added to the general excitement in the air. The entire experience is something I would recommend, the Cask & Trotter is right for someone looking for a throwback night out.
