Following a nine-month hiatus, Cardi B returns in fine form with assistance from Megan Thee Stallion on the Ayo n Keyz produced “WAP (Wet Ass Pussy.)” The ladies let listeners into an uninhibited look into what it’s like to get to know them trading bars over a sample of Frank Ski’s 1992 track “There’s Some Whores in This House.”
The Hot Girl Meg continues dominating her second summer of success, fresh out of her Quarantine Entanglement with Tory Lanez. After drumming up publicity by dropping the stunning cover art, the two superstars delivered with the release of “WAP”. The sexually charged single is raunchy but Cardi chose to up the ante by adding Megan. “The song is really nasty. The song always been nasty,” Cardi B said during an interview with Hot 97. “My verses and the hook has been the same since before Megan was there. So it just always been a nasty song and it’s like, ‘Who’s saying more nastier things than Megan?’”
Director Collin Tilley helmed the project delivering on his signature style create a larger than life spectacle. The opening sequence features a fountain with Cardi B and Megan The Stallion statues squatting and water flowing from their breasts—a very subtle touch.
The rest of the music video takes place in a mansion filled with surprises behind each door. Both ladies sport color-coordinated outfits, hair, and makeup (Megan did her own for the entire shoot). Cardi B covered in cheetah print, Megan Thee Stallion hitting the splits while surrounded by white tigers – it’s a full-blown exhibition. Kylie Jenner, Rosalía, Mulatto, Rubi Rose, and Suki Hana all make cameo appearances, but Normani steals the show at the end serving twerk team realness.
