Today, Calabasas released their latest single, “First Time Thing,” along with a stunning music video. This new track delivers a tale of falling in out of love, cutting ties, and claiming their place as artists. With catchy melodies and infectious lyrics, “First Time Thing” is bound to be on repeat this Summer.
“First Time Thing” has arrived just in time for people to “cut cut those strings” off their quarantine relationships and be single going into a wild Summer. Produced by Franskiiz and paired with Watrcup’s lyricism, “First Time Thing” is a guaranteed earworm for any listener.
The track includes a soulful sample that gives a friendly and optimistic atmosphere that will ramp up any occasion. The hard-hitting uptempo percussion also creates an infectious vibe that’ll get anyone moving on their feet.
Calabasas, formerly known as The Image, is an LA-based pop duo consisting of Franskiiz and Watrcup. Their musical style consists of alternative pop mixed with hip hop, R&B, and cinematic flourishes that result in music that’s just as energetic as it is groovy. Since signing with music mogul Bu Thiam, Calabasas has collaborated with Kanye West, Marc E Bassy, and UnoTheActivist. In July, Calabasas released their break-out single, “Believe In Me,” which hit the tops of multiple major playlists and charts.
Calabasas is on a tear so far in 2021, releasing their album “OKAY: An LA Story,” and multiple singles. 2021 may be halfway over, but it’s clear Calabasas aren’t letting up when it comes to releasing new fire tracks.
