Hip Hop based subgenres like drill and trap rap making their way to the forefront of mainstream music. A torrent of multifunctional artists and producers now have the opportunity to create with boundless freedom. Baltimore-bred hitmaker Pyrex Whippa has already created notable soundscapes for artists like DaBaby, Young Thug, and Dreamville. Now, he’s decided to take full advantage of the open opportunity. He embarks on his solo creative campaign with the music video for the new track “Blood On The Hills.”
Produced by Southside of 808 Mafia, “Blood On The” hills depicts a delirious and jaded Pyrex Whippa as he floats through the streets in a blacked-out Rolls Royce Ghost.
The track lands somewhere between on-balance and perfectly in-pocket stylistic vocal delivery, reminiscent of early 6lack, and brute force lyricism. Pyrex Whippa delivers a thunderously expansively clear cut aesthetic that is both mysterious and entertaining. “Blood On The Hills” follows Whippa’s recent singles “20Pts” and “Authentic” featuring Otti and Private Hour.
Whippa’s new music arrives on the heels of an extremely successful run in 2019. The producer spawned several mega placements including one on DaBaby’s hit single “Pony”. Another, on Dreamville’s RIAA Platinum-certified Revenge Of The Dreamers III album on posse-cut “Costa Rica.”
